Senator Maria Cantwell Visits Altek; Announcing concept of an Advanced Manufacturing Center in Eastern WA.

Altek was honored to host Senator Maria Cantwell yesterday as she talked about the CHIPS and Science Act she successfully lead in Congress, and the need to locate a collaborative manufacturing center in the Spokane area for aerospace and space. 

"An advanced manufacturing center in Eastern Washington will help train the workforce of the future, enable more research and development, and catalyze innovation for the aerospace and space industries," said Mike Marzetta, Altek president.

Altek is delighted to announce the promotion of five long-term employees to Vice President and Managing Director roles. Terry Shields has been promoted to Vice President Tooling & Technologies, Gary Forde is Vice President Engineering, John Sweeney is Vice President Manufacturing Operations, Todd Baker is Vice President of Quality & Productivity, and Terry Moffitt is Managing Director IT.

The changes follow a positive resurgence of business after the company experienced a turbulent couple of years due to the pandemic and aerospace market challenges.

Allan Marzetta owns one of the largest machining and plastic-injection molding companies on the West Coast, with 180 employees and $15 million in annual sales.

​

But he doesn’t act like it.

​

As chairman of Altek Inc. in Liberty Lake, Marzetta puts on white socks, not executive airs. He’d rather pound nails at his new $5 million factory than attend pretentious downtown business meetings. He’d rather stalk a Canadian moose with his 300 Winchester than the next big deal.
